The Chair for Information Systems Research has an open PhD position starting March 2024

Candidates (m/f/d) should be interested in databases and data management platforms. The position is full-time (100% TVL E13) and funded through an EU project starting March 2024. The candidate is expected to implement a large-scale platform for data management over the project duration of 3-4 years. The candidate is further expected to work and coordinate with project partners spread across Europe from the Canary Islands to Greece.

The position also includes teaching and supervision of Bachelor and Master students.The Chair of Information Systems Research has a strong record of high-level publications in A+ and A journals within the information systems and operations research literature. Previous colleagues have taken prestigious positions at University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, University of Münster, University of Würzburg, LMU Munich, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and in industry after completing their PhD. We focus on candidates with a technical background, such as Computer Science, Math, or Physics. Candidates should be eager to solve analytical tasks, ideally, combined with intermediate to expert programming skills (e.g., C++, Python).
